About CACSD
The Child Advocacy Centers of South Dakota is an accredited State Chapter of the National Children Alliance and represents local Children's advocacy centers (CACs) in South Dakota.
CACSD was founded in 1998 with a membership of two centers in South Dakota. Today its membership has grown to four accredited centers and one developing center, serving children and families throughout South Dakota.
About Child Advocacy Centers
Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) are child-focused centers that coordinate the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse, while helping abused children heal. CACs emphasize the coordination of investigation and intervention services by bringing together professionals and agencies as a multi-disciplinary team to create a Child-focused approach to child abuse cases.

Referrals for evaluations are from law enforcement, child protection services, and prosecutors. Centers do not accept direct referrals from parents or concerned individuals.

The National Children's Alliance is a national not-for-profit organization that equips communities to provide a coordinated investigation and comprehensive response to child victims of abuse. NCA accredits children's advocacy centers and state chapters based on nationally standards.
